Many people may know about the world-famous Ha Long Bay in Quang Ninh. But the province also has over 600 recognized landscapes, heritage sites, and more. Millions of domestic and international tourists visit the province annually. Let Asia King Travel introduce you further where all the beauty of nature and people converge.

History

History has recorded evidence of human presence in Quang Ninh more than 18,000 years ago. During the feudal period, Van Don was an important commercial port attracting merchants from all over. The three victories over foreign invaders on the Bach Dang River are the most glorious milestones.

The French colonial era saw the birth of Vietnam's first industrial center in Cam Pha and Hon Gai by coal mining. However, due to exploitation, the working class soon developed revolutionary ideals. The 1936 strike of 30,000 Hon Gai workers symbolized the struggle against class discrimination.

In 1964, Quang Ninh Province was officially established from Quang Yen and Hai Ninh provinces. Today, Quang Ninh is a leading tourism and industrial center of Vietnam. The history of Quang Ninh is not only a source of pride but also a solid foundation for modern development.

How to Get there

By plane

Van Don International Airport (IATA: VDO) regularly has flights from other provinces in Vietnam. In addition, the airport also connects to other countries such as China, Japan, South Korea, and other Southeast Asian countries.

By road

Cities in the province are located within a distance of 150 to 200 kilometers from the capital Hanoi. Highway 6 runs through most cities, making it easy to travel around. Driving time is usually less than 3 hours.

By train

Train travel primarily arrives at the station in Ha Long City, but this is not a popular choice due to the long travel time. If tourists have extra time and enjoy the sea view along the way, this is an interesting way to travel.

Weather

Quang Ninh has a typical northern Vietnam climate with four distinct seasons. The sea helps regulate the temperature, so the weather is more pleasant than in Hanoi. Occasionally, the province experiences storms but with low intensity. The weather on the islands is slightly different, with little variation throughout the year.

Tourists can freely swim or climb mountains without worrying about skin issues. Moreover, the province also organizes many summer events and festivals to promote tourism.
