Cao Ly Mountain, also known as Co Don Mountain, is situated over 10 kilometers from the center of Huc Dong Commune in Binh Lieu District, Quang Ninh Province. Covering an area of more than 40 square kilometers, its peak rises above 1,000 meters.
With a fresh, cool climate, the mountain boasts rich biodiversity and lush forests. Each season brings a unique charm, from vibrant blossoms to misty landscapes. Visitors can admire rare flowers native to colder regions, especially the striking myrtle blooms while watching cows and goats grazing peacefully amidst the breathtaking scenery.
To reach Cao Ly Mountain, you first need to travel to Binh Lieu by bus, motorbike, or private car. From Binh Lieu town, continue about 18 kilometers to the mountain’s base. From there, you can take a motorbike or car to the camping site, which features a flat grassy area and is approximately a 30-40 minutes walk from the summit.

The best time to explore Cao Ly Mountain in Binh Lieu is from July to September when myrtle flowers bloom, covering the hills in a stunning purple hue. Additionally, from October onwards, visitors can enjoy another breathtaking experience - cloud hunting. The ideal time to witness the mesmerizing sea of clouds is from 5:00 to 6:00 AM and from 4:00 to 5:00 PM.

Camping on Cao Ly Moutain

Aiming to exploit its tourism potential, Binh Lieu District has invested and put into use the Huc Dong - Dong Van inter-commune road running through the mountain. From the campsite, it takes about 40 minutes to reach the peak of Cao Ly Mountain. Here, visitors can bask in the morning sunlight, admire the breathtaking mountain views, and overlook ethnic villages nestled among vast terraced fields. To complete the experience, a barbecue party at the mountain’s base offers a delightful way to enjoy nature.
