Tien Yen District is located in the northeastern part of Quang Ninh Province, Vietnam. This district possesses a lot of mountains and rivers. In addition, it is bordered by Dam Ha District to the east and Ba Che District to the west, while to the south it connects with Cam Pha City and Van Don District.
Tien Yen is about 230 kilometers from Hanoi and 90 kilometers away from Ha Long City. Despite its remote location, the district is still famous for being a cultural melting pot and gateway to the ethnic highlands of northeastern Vietnam.
When visiting Tien Yen District, you can choose to travel by either coach, taxi or motorbike.
A major advantage of coaches and taxis is their flexibility, regardless of any departure point. As soon as you land at Noi Bai International Airport, your pre-booked coach will be waiting and ready to take you to Tien Yen District. You can travel to Tien Yen District by coach

First, you should take National Highway 5 from Hanoi to the Sai Dong T-junction, then head toward Bac Ninh. From Bac Ninh, get on National Highway 18 in the path of Pha Lai - Chi Linh - Dong Trieu - Uong Bi - Ha Long. After reaching Ha Long, you can continue your journey to Tien Yen District by following local roads or using GPS navigation.

You can expect to travel around 200 - 220 km, which usually takes 4 to 6 hours. Since the distance is relatively long, don’t forget to secure your necessary documents and remain cautious on the road to ensure a safe journey.
In fact you can visit Tien Yen District at any time of the year thanks to its mild climate and the natural beauty that changes with the seasons.
If we had to pick the most pleasant period, it would be between February to May. During this time, the weather is cool with the temperature fluctuating around 18 to 22 Degrees Celsius. Therefore, it creates favourable conditions for sightseeing, outdoor activities and exploring around the district.
However, you should still pay attention to the weather forecast for Quang Ninh province in general. There aren't many storms here, but when they do occur, they tend to be severe and can pose significant dangers to visitors.
Located in Yen Than Commune, Pac Sui Waterfall is one of the most famous tourist destinations in Tien Yen District. When you visit this place, it will unfold before your eyes a majestic natural landscape featuring 16 cascading tiers of waterfalls and numerous iconic shaped rock formations. Long Vang Cape is a sandbar that spans nearly 20 hectares near the Ha Long - Mong Cai Expressway. To reach this cape, you will have to rent boats from local fishermen at Mui Chua Port, with a price of VND 250 000 per hour.
Visiting Long Vang Cape, it is hard to not notice the golden sandbank since this is one of Long Vang’s most unique traits. Many travelers who come here love the feeling of walking on the seaside while sand gently ripples under their feet. With a bit of luck and skill, some might successfully catch seafood like snails or fish.
