The Vietnam National Museum of History was established based on the merging of two units, the Vietnam History Museum and the Vietnam Revolution Museum, in 2011. However, the main building of the museum was an architectural work with a long history, which was built in 1925 under the French colonial period, in the special Indochinese architectural style designed by architect Ernest Hébrard.
