Pu Mat Tour 3 Days: Central Vietnam's Green

The journey begins with a bus ride from Hanoi to Pha Lai Commune in Mon Son Ward, Con Cuong District, passing through scenic landscapes of Nghe An. Along the way, stop for a delicious lunch at Hon Mat before continuing the drive toward Pha Lai. One of the highlights of the trip is a photo stop at the famous "Number 0" landmark on the legendary Ho Chi Minh Road.

Upon reaching Pha Lai, we board a boat at the Pha Lai Boat Station and begin our adventure along the Giang River, navigating through rapids on the way to Le Village. This small community is home to the Dan Lai and Thai people and is located on the riverbank. The afternoon is spent practicing paddling and swimming in the river, taking in the beautiful surroundings. As night falls, we will stay overnight at a traditional Dan Lai house, experiencing local hospitality and culture.

After breakfast at the homestay, we pack our belongings onto the boat and prepare for a trekking adventure. We follow the opposite route along the Giang River, heading towards Co Phat Village, nestled in the heart of Pu Mat National Park. This trek is relatively easy, though there are a few challenging sections where we’ll trek along the riverbanks and cross some strong rapids. Along the way, we’ll pause to enjoy a picnic lunch in the midst of nature.

By the afternoon, we will arrive at Co Phat Village, where we’ll set up our tents by the riverbank. The rest of the afternoon is free for exploring the village, practicing Stand-Up Paddleboarding (SUP), and swimming in the cool waters of the Giang River. For hygiene, showers are available at the border station within the village. In the evening, we will enjoy a hearty dinner and engage in conversations with local soldiers and villagers before settling down for the night at the campsite.

We start the day with breakfast at the campsite before preparing for an exciting SUP paddling journey back to Pha Lai. The route takes us through more than 20 rapids along the Giang River, and before we begin, the tour guide will provide a paddling tutorial to ensure a safe and enjoyable trip. The rapids provide a thrilling challenge as we make our way back downstream.

Upon reaching Pha Lai in the afternoon, we will have time to relax, freshen up with a shower, and enjoy a well-deserved rest before dinner. Afterward, we’ll board the bus for the return journey to Hanoi, concluding this adventure with fond memories and a sense of accomplishment.
