History

Khanh Hoa's historical narrative is a mix of ancient civilizations, foreign conquests, and modern developments. After many years inhabited by indigenous communities, this region bore witness to the rise and fall of the Champa Kingdom. It's not until the Vietnamese expansion in the 15th century that Khanh Hoa is brought into the broader Vietnamese state.

During the colonial era, the French imprint left its architectural legacy on the province. In addition, the Vietnam War even further shaped Khanh Hoa, with the region experiencing intense conflict.

Later on, post-war reconstruction paved the way for a contemporary era in which Khanh Hoa has emerged as a vital economic and cultural hub. Today, the province's story is told through the remnants of ancient Cham towers and colonial-era architecture.
