Itineraries

Your cruise begins at 9:00 am with a transfer from your hotel in Siem Reap to Kampong Phluk floating village, located on the Tonle Sap Lake's Tanas River. The village, home to over 1,000 residents living in stilted houses, also features a school, temple, church, and tourist-oriented restaurants. After the tour, stop for lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Kampong Chhnang. The 3.5-hour drive offers views of rural life and a stop at an ancient bridge in Kampong Thom or a coffee break, as you wish. Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed aboard the Mekong Dawn boat with a welcome drink. After settling into your cabin, cruise around Kampong Chhnang’s floating village. Relax on deck or enjoy a drink as the sun sets, and end the day with a delicious dinner and a peaceful overnight stay on the Tonle Sap River.

After a hearty breakfast, transfer to land via a smaller boat to explore the pottery village. Tuk tuks will take you through picturesque villages, passing emerald green rice paddies, sugar palms, and stilted wooden houses, with children greeting you along the way. After the tour, return to the boat for a delicious lunch while watching fishermen float by and children wave from the shore. As we sail toward Kampong Tralach, experience a traditional Ox Cart ride or an alternative cycling option to visit the Kampong Tralach Temple. Afterward, return to the Mekong Dawn to enjoy snacks and drinks at sundown as we cruise toward Oudong, the ancient Cambodian capital. Between 1618 and 1866, Oudong served as the capital before relocating to Phnom Penh. We will dock at Koh Chen (Chinese Island), known for its silver and copper smiting, where you’ll spend a peaceful night.

After a hearty breakfast, we’ll visit an Oudong Temple perched atop a mountain. Climbing the 509 steps to the peak, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views and the chance to explore historic stupas, tombs, and memorials. Following the visit, we’ll return to the boat for a leisurely lunch. Enjoy a relaxing afternoon as we navigate toward Khsach Kandal, a peaceful spot on the Mekong River where we will rest for the night.

Wake up to a delightful spread of local and continental cuisine, complemented by the stunning sunrise along the river as the boat navigates towards Koh Dach, also known as Silk Island. This typical rural Cambodian weaving village is home to residents who operate hand looms beneath their houses, while others dye and spin silk using bicycle parts. Weaver experts will explain the process in detail, from silkworms to scarves. After the excursion on Silk Island, we’ll return to the boat, gather your belongings, and cruise towards Phnom Penh, our final destination. ETA: 2:00 pm.
