Your cruise begins at 1:00 pm when we collect you from your hotel and transfer you to the Mekong Dawn boat. Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by our Cruise Manager and crew with a welcome drink, followed by check-in and a delicious lunch as the boat begins its gentle cruise towards Silk Island (Koh Dach).

Silk Island is a charming rural Cambodian weaving village, where locals work hand looms beneath their houses, and others dye and spin silk using spinning wheels crafted from bicycle parts. Expert weavers will provide a detailed explanation of the weaving process, from silkworms to scarves.

After the excursion on Silk Island, we’ll return to the boat to relax with a sundowner as we continue our journey towards Khsach Kandal, a tranquil area where we’ll anchor for the night.

The boat will begin its gentle ride towards Oudong as the sun rises. You can take your time and enjoy breakfast at your own pace while soaking in the tranquil river views. As we sail down the river, we make our way to the ancient Cambodian capital of Oudong.

We dock at Koh Chen, also known as ‘Chinese Island,’ a small village where locals specialize in silver and copper smiting. After lunch, we will transfer you to Oudong Mountain, where a brisk climb leads to one of the most stunning views in the Kingdom. From 1618 to 1866, Oudong was Cambodia’s capital, and remnants of stupas, tombs, and memorials still stand.

After exploring the mountain, we return to the boat for a relaxing sundowner as we continue our journey towards Kampong Tralach, a picturesque rural area with natural beauty. Enjoy a delightful dinner here while surrounded by the scenic views of the Tonle Sap River.

After a hearty breakfast, we will embark on an Ox Cart ride, a traditional mode of transport still commonly used in rural areas today. The ride will take us to Kampong Tralach Temple, which was built in 1841. After exploring the temple, we return to the Mekong Dawn and continue our journey toward Kampong Chhnang.

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Siem Reap, reaching your hotel around 7:00 pm, marking the end of your trip.
