Hanoi city tour (B)

After breakfast, our guide will pick you up and show you around Hanoi, Vietnam’s gracious capital. We enjoy a full day city tour starting with the Ho Chi Minh Complex, home to his mausoleum, garden, house on stilts and a museum which traces his life and work.

Our first stop is to visit the mausoleum of the nation’s founder Ho Chi MinhLocated in the center of Ba Dinh Square, this is the most important monument of Vietnam in which Ho Chi Minh’s body is preserved. This site only opens on Tuesday to Thursday and weekends from 08:00 – 11:00. 

The next destination is the Presidential Palace and the Ho Chi Minh’s house on stiltsThe Ho Chi Minh’s stilt house was completed on May 19th, 1958 as a birthday present for uncle Ho and becomes a symbol of his simple life. 

Close to this complex is the One Pillar PagodaThe pagoda looks like a lotus blossoming from the square pond. It was constructed in 1049 by King Ly Thai Tong based on his dream of Goddess of Mercy seating on a lotus flower and giving him a boy.
We follow this with the Vietnam Military History Museum this is one of the oldest museums in Hanoi. It is particularly interesting to see and important for those wishing to learn about Vietnam, because most of the country’s history is about war and fighting for independence. 
Lunch will be your own account 

In the afternoon, visit the Hoa Lo Prison. The Americans called this prison “Hanoi Hilton” during the Second Indochina War. Visitors can view the original cells, complete with leg-irons, along with a selection of bilingual (Vietnamese and English) displays illustrating the horrors of life in the prison during the French colonial period

Finally we spend your time in Museum of the Revolution. Built in 1917 by the French colony, the place is now dedicated to displaying artifacts, documentaries and sporadic exhibitions about Vietnamese’s struggle in modern history.

Hanoi - Fly to Dien Bien (B)

Pick up and transfer to the airport for flight to Dien Bien Phu. Upon arrival, check in to our hotel. This afternoon we will walk around the town, visit Dien Bien cemetery and the museum, explore the local market. Stay at night in Dien Bien Phu

Dien Bien Phu (B)

8:00 The tour guide will pick you up at the hotel in Dien Bien Phu
Then the tour guide will take you up the mountain on twisting road to visit the General Giap's Headquarter located in the primeval forest in Muong Phang commune. On the way, travellers will have chance to see the beautiful natural scenery with some scattered villages of Thai, Kho Mu ethnic minority.
11:00 Return to the hotel
14:00 Then the tour guide will take you to visit Dien Bien revolutionary martyr cemeteryDien Bien Phu victory museum, the A1 hill-where bitter fighting took place. Then travellers will continue to visit the bunker of French commander, general Colonel Christian de Castries.

Dien Bien Phu – Fly to Hanoi (B)

You have a morning at leisure and then you take a transfer to the airport for flight back to Hanoi where you will be picked up and dropped off at your hotel. The remaining time would be spent at your own pleasure

Hanoi – Ha Long Bay (B, L, D)

Breakfast served at hotel and then starts a 3-hour drive through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta to Ha Long City.

Declared as a World Heritage site by the UNESCO in 1994, Ha Long Bay is one of Vietnam’s most spectacular natural attractions. Nearly 200 km far from Hanoi, the bay is dotted with 1600 limestone islands, capturing visitors’ attention.

Arrive in Halong ad board a luxury wooden sailing junk for a cruise through the limestone cliffs and emerald waters of Ha Long Bay, giving us the chance to take in the stunning scenery of this World Heritage Site. While on board we will be served a sumptuous fresh, local seafood lunch followed by a swim and exploring some of the limestone caves in this area. When the sun comes down we drop anchor for the night nearby a remote island.  Dinner served on board. Overnight on Junk
 

Ha Long Bay – Hanoi – Fly to Hue (B, L)

Rising to the tranquil beauty of the bay we have time for an early morning dip with joys and emotions for watching sunrise on sea followed by breakfast. This morning we continue to move around the bay to find more secluded areas. The junk will be near us at all times serving as a back-up vessel for those that require it. At around midday we will return to the main harbor before transferring to our awaiting vehicle for a 3-hour journey to Noi Bai airport for flight to Hue.
Hue was the capital of Vietnam under the Nguyen Dynasty. Not only is it famous for the splendid architecture of citadels, palaces, royal tombs and pagodas but the ancient traditions of Hue also created a unique romantic city.

Hue Imperial City (B)

We then set out for the exploration of Hue's famous highlights, including a boat trip to visit the picturesque Thien Mu, or Heavenly Lady Pagoda
Built in 1601, it is one of the best know religious and must-see sites in Hue. Both landscape and monuments here are always in harmony and bring a feeling of peace for travelers. 
Disembark the board for a visit the elaborate mausoleum of former emperor Tu Duc.
Stretching along the Perfume River, Tu Duc mausoleum is considered to be the most picturesque site of Hue. The tomb was designed by the Emperor Tu Duc himself and this is the largest architectural work of Nguyen Dynasty’s royal palaces and tombs.
Transfer back to Hue center Hue for lunch at local restaurant. You can try some traditional Hue specialties at Huynh Anh Kim Long. Frequented only by the locals, this restaurant specializes in banh uot, a steamed rice pancake stuffed with delicate, finely chopped pork, and bun thi nuong, a rice noodle dish served with grilled meat
In the afternoon we continue to visit the Citadel and the Forbidden Purple City
Built in the 19th century by Nguyen dynasty, the Citadel becomes the most important historical and cultural monument in Vietnam. It is a square 2 km wall encompassing 3 walled enclosures: the Citadel, the Yellow Imperial city, and the Forbidden Purple city.
If time permits, we continue to do the walking and shopping in Dong Ba Market to enjoy the specialty of Hue city. Overnight at the hotel in Hue
 

Hue – Hoian Walking tour (B)

After having breakfast, we continue our south journey by road to Hoian
The ancient town of Hoian is a small town in Central Vietnam. In the 16th and 17th centuries, Hoian was a busy international commercial port for foreign merchants. Today, Hoian is popular for its peaceful beauty, eclectic architecture, tailors and cafes.
The scenery en route is very beautiful. We make a stop at Lang Co beach for coffee and refreshments before winding our way up the spectacular Hai Van Pass to admire the stunning views north to Lang Co beach and south to Danang City. Continue on our way down to the other side and head to Da Nang where we will stop at the Cham Museum, the famed China Beach, and the Marble Mountains. Arrival in Hoi An, we will have our first glimpse of this beautiful boutique town recognized by UNESCO as a world heritage site. The tranquil and charm of Hoi An with its low tiled houses of Chinese appearance, Japanese covered bridge, and the colorful riverside market make it one of Vietnam’s most delightful places. My Son Sanctuary - Hoi An Countryside Bike Tour Including Thu Bon River Cruise (B, D)

Start your exploration today with a visit to the 4th century Cham religious sanctuary of My Son,
 
It is classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, located in a beautiful green valley surrounded by impressive mountains. While a small site, the ruins at My Son are the largest and most intact remaining in Vietnam. It is also the home to the Museum of Cham Sculpture, which records the development of the culture and history of the Cham people through their elaborate sculptures and carvings. The passable road ends about 1.5 miles from the actual site.
In the afternoon at around 15:00 pick up at your hotel and climb atop your bicycle to begin your explorative ride through the verdant beauty of the countryside. Admire luscious landscapes thronged with paddies and winding waterways and stop at several quaint towns to gain insight into indigenous cultural traditions. Next, venture to the picturesque banks of the Thu Bon River and embark on a majestic cruise down the waterway. Marvel at the riverside beauty of the area then disembark at a floating island to appease your appetite with a flavorsome and fulfilling barbecue feast. Watch the sun sink into the horizon and cast a fiery glow over the scenery while finishing your delicious meal. Afterwards, return to the boat and glide down the river as dusk shrouds the countryside in atmospheric light. Approach the glittering lights of Hoi An and cycle through the bustling streets back to your original departure point, where the tour concludes (at around 18:30)

Hoian Free & easy – Da Nang- Ho Chi Minh & Fifth Military Zone Museum- Fly to Saigon (B)

Today you have free time until the afternoon transfer to Da Nang airport for your flight to Saigon. On the way we stop to visit Ho Chi Minh & Fifth Military Zone Museum before taking your flight. Upon arrival in Saigon pick up and transfer you to your hotel in Saigon

Saigon- Cu Chi Tunnels- Saigon City (B)

Morning after having breakfast, depart for the famous Cu Chi Tunnels 
Located 70 km northwest of Saigon, Cu Chi Tunnels were an incredible underground network constructed by Vietnamese soldiers in the American war. Nowadays, the tunnels have become a popular tourist attraction of Vietnam.
Afternoon, we take a half day of city tour to visit all famous sites of this bustling city. The first destination is the Reunification Palace
Reunification Palace is a unique construction designed for the President of South Vietnam during Vietnam War. When entering, visitors can not only admire its architectural beauty but also enjoy fresh atmosphere created by trees and grasses around.
Followed by some French colonial structures including the Old Saigon Post Office & Notre Dame Cathedral
Notre Dame Cathedral is one of the most famous architectural monuments influenced by European architecture. Both its exterior and interior are impressive with bright red color of bricks, stained glass panels and carved tiles, attracting many tourists.
After visiting the Jade Emperor Pagoda, we continue our trip to the bustling Ben Thanh Market, which is firstly well-known as the place for real Vietnamese food. There are a number of vendors and food stalls in the market food section that offers guests many freshly delicious dishes. You also can find any goods for daily use as well as variety of eye-catching local handicrafts, souvenirs here.

Saigon - Day tour to Long Tan Nui Dat battle field- Saigon (B, L)

Our driver will meet you up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City and our local guide will get on car on middle way (Vung Tau City). We will reach Long Tan Commune in Dat Do District, Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province after three-hour-drive.
Our first stop-over is Nui Dat SAS Hill, where you will be shown the helicopter parking and camping areas of soldiers and explained the important sites during the war. You will have an overview of the 4km circle of the Nui Dat base perimeter.
Afterwards, we continue transferring to Long Tan Cross Memorial to commemorate the Australian and Vietnamese soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the war and then Long Phuoc Tunnels dug by the Viet Minh and Viet Cong for fighting and sheltering.
Long Phuoc Tunnels is our last stop in a half-day tour to Long Tan – Nui Dat. We will drive back to Ba Ria for late lunch at a local restaurant. Our tour guide will recommend you some specialties of this land, it all depends on you. After a short rest, you will return to Ho Chi Minh City.

Saigon – Can Gio -Monkey Island-Rung Sac Military Base-  Saigon  (B, L)

8:00 AM Pick up your hotel to go to Can gio.  Crossing Binh Khanh ferry, dense mangrove forest can be observed while travelling. Being destroyed heavily during the War, Can gio is slowly being rebuilder and in 2000, UNESCO granted the status of biosphere reserve.
10:30 AM Reaching Đảo Khỉ (Monkey Island): Here we transfer for 30-40 km to the park where you will meet your local Vietnamese guide, start our trekking tour to
- Visiting Can Gio Museum
- Visiting Mangrove Forest Park Fauna Conservatory: saltwater crocodiles and more than 1,000 wild monkeys which love to play with people.
- Taking canoe to visit Mangrove Forest Ecosystem and Rung Sac Guerilla Base (*). You have an opportunity to learn about the lives, history and battles of the Base. Around 860 soldiers fell down here during the War
12:00PM – Having lunch and resting. While resting, a great opportunity to hit the swimming pool and purchasing fresh seafood (at own expense) or taking a swim at the beach
14:30PM – Visiting local seafood market.
15:00PM – Returning back to Saigon. Arriving Saigon around 17:00PM

Note: (*) Depending on the water level the itinerary is subject to change. You might not be able to take the canoe to Rung Sac. In this case a trekking tour to visit the base is recommended. We will check and reconfirm this few weeks before your travel date
 

Saigon – Ben Tre- Can Tho (B, L)

The Mekong Delta is the region in southern Vietnam where the Mekong River approaches and empties into the sea. Mekong River Delta is an important transport hub to promote exchanges between Vietnam and other countries on the Peninsula. It is a very rich and lush area, covered with rice fields, that produces about half of the total of Vietnam’s agricultural output. Subsequently, life in the Mekong Delta revolves much around the river, and all the villages are often accessible by river rather than by road.
Pick up at your hotel in Saigon and drive to Ben Tre. On arrival in Ham Luong pier, cruise on Ben Tre River exploring the lively activities along river as fishing, water transferring…….see brick making in handy traditional style by printing and baking. Visit one of plenty of coconut processing workshops located along canal. Turn on natural scissors creeks where they look smaller and smaller to go to village. Take a walk to family workshop making sleep mats and enjoying some fruits and tea.

  • Riding a motor cart (xe lôi) or bike on shady paths, pass by green rice fields and vegetable plains to be able to touch on real life and find out about tropical culture from Peasants. Lunch at Hai Ho house.

Afternoon riding a sampan along canal, before boat back to Ham Luong pier.  End you touring, keep transferring Can Tho for an overnight
Can Tho is situated in the heart of the Mekong delta, between a network of rivers and canals. The city is famous for Ninh Kieu wharf and Bang Lang garden. Ninh Kieu port and its floating markets Cai Rang and Phung Hiep, where goods can be exchanged on the river. With plenty of restaurants, floating markets, friendly people and a welcoming atmosphere, this riverside province never fails to capture the traveler’s heart.

Cai Rang Floating market – Saigon (B)

Rising early to the sounds of the Delta coming to life for another day, we breakfast and start our trip with a boat cruise on sparking streams along the endless waterway of Mighty Mekong River to Cai Rang floating markets. 
 
One of the most enjoyable things to do in Mekong Delta is visiting the floating market and the delta’s biggest floating market, Cai Rang Floating Market, is a place that you should not miss. Just 6km from Can Tho and well worth an early morning visit, what makes this market special is that its main goods are fruits, specialties of Mekong Delta. Apart from fresh fruits, you can also buy garden tools or crafts or enjoy a Vietnamese breakfast dishes such as rice noodle “Pho” or “Hu Tieu”. It is an unforgettable memory when manage to use chopstick and Pho bowl while paddling along the river.
After lunch at a local restaurant by your own account, we transfer back to Saigon for around 3.5 hours. Overnight in Saigon
