Hanoi arrival
Meet your guide at Noi Bai Airport and transfer to your hotel in Hanoi for check-in.

Hanoi city tour and night train to Lao Cai
Spend the day in Hanoi, starting with the Ho Chi Minh complex. In the evening you take the night train towards Lao Cai and Sapa.

Lao Chai and Ta Van villages, homestay
Arrive in Lao Cai around 06:00 and drive about 45 minutes to Sapa. Walk on buffalo paths through gardens and pine forest to the Lao Chai and Ta Van villages of the Black H'mong and Dzay people, and stay in a homestay.

Ta Van, Giang Ta Chai waterfall and Sapa
Trek through bamboo forest to the Giang Ta Chai waterfall, cross a rattan suspension bridge and enter the Red Zao village. Return to Sapa, where the rest of the day is free.

Sapa, Bac Ha market and night train to Hanoi
Drive about 100 km to Bac Ha, home of the Flower Hmong and its large weekly market, which runs on Sunday only. Continue to Lao Cai for the night train to Hanoi.

Hanoi, Nam Dinh and Hong Quang puppet village
Arrive in Hanoi by train in the early morning, then drive to Nam Dinh. Discover Hong Quang water puppet village and cycle around the village in the afternoon.

Cooking class and mat weaving village
Wake up in the countryside, visit a local market and join a cooking class with the host family. Then visit a mat weaving village and continue to Ninh Binh.

Tam Coc boat trip and Thung Nham bird reserve
Take a sampan boat, rowed by a local, on the river at Tam Coc, past limestone mountains and rice fields in harvest season. In the afternoon take a small sampan to the Thung Nham bird reserve.

Ninh Binh to Cuc Phuong National Park
Drive from Ninh Binh to Cuc Phuong National Park and visit the Animal Rescue Center. Start trekking from Bong Center with a local guide through the rain forest, about 18 km in total.

Cuc Phuong, Hoa Lu and Trang An
Say goodbye to the hosts and walk to the main road past rice paddies and sugarcane farms. Visit Hoa Lu, the 10th century capital, then Trang An.

Ninh Binh to Ha Long Bay cruise
Drive about 3 hours through the Red River Delta to Ha Long City. Board a wooden sailing junk for a join-in cruise among the limestone islands, with a shared guide on board.

Ha Long Bay, Hanoi and flight to Hue
Swim early and watch the sunrise on the bay, then cruise to secluded areas. Return to the harbour, transfer to Hanoi and fly to Hue.

Hue imperial sites and Perfume River
Take a boat on the Perfume River to Thien Mu pagoda and visit the mausoleum of Emperor Tu Duc. Spend the night in a homestay in Hue.

Cycle to Thuy Bieu village. See daily village life, visit old houses and take a herbal foot bath.

Hue to Hoi An
Travel south by road with a coffee stop at Lang Co beach and a view from the Hai Van pass. Arrive in Hoi An for a city tour of the ancient town.

My Son sunrise and Hoi An kayak
Go by jeep to My Son, the UNESCO site with Cham ruins and a Cham sculpture museum. Later kayak in Hoi An.

Cam Thanh cycling and flight to Saigon
Cycle about 10 km through the Cam Thanh countryside, with a basket boat ride, fishing, cooking class and lunch at a local family house. Then fly to Saigon.

Cu Chi Tunnels and Saigon city tour
Visit the Cu Chi Tunnels in the morning, the underground network built during the war. In the afternoon take a half day city tour of Saigon.

Saigon, Ben Tre and Cai Be homestay
Drive to the Mekong Delta, cruise the riverbank and land on Tortoise Island to visit a fruit garden. Stay in a homestay in Cai Be.

Cai Be floating market, Vinh Long and Saigon
Take a boat past the floating market and glide through green canals to an orchard for lunch. Cruise on to see village life, then return to Saigon.

Mekong Delta tributaries by boat
Your guide meets you in the hotel lobby and takes you by car to the pier. Travel by boat to the tributaries of the Mekong Delta and visit the Can Giuoc market.
