10:00: Arrive in Nam Dinh and begin the day with a visit to Hong Quang Water Puppet Village – one of Vietnam’s most enchanting water puppet villages. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to learn how traditional water puppets are crafted by skilled artisans.
Enjoy a water puppetry show at the artisan’s house.

11:30: Continue to Co Le Pagoda, a remarkable religious site that uniquely combines elements of both Buddhist and Christian architecture, offering a rare and intriguing glimpse into Vietnam’s spiritual diversity.
After exploring the pagoda, head toward Hai Hau District.

12:30: Enjoy a traditional lunch at Quan Anh Heritage House, a site deeply rooted in the cultural and historical development of Hai Anh Village. The house features a captivating blend of Eastern and Western architectural styles, offering both historical insight and aesthetic beauty.

14:00: Hop on a bicycle and ride to Pham Phao Village, well known for its traditional wood carving and trumpet-making crafts. Visit Pham Phao Church, a notable architectural highlight of the area.
Right next to the church is Hai Minh Painters’ Village, where you will meet and chat with local artists. Today, around 40 painters work from their homes here, creating artworks that are regularly featured in galleries across Hanoi.

On the way back, stop at the tile-roofed bridge of Luong Pagoda in Hai Anh Commune. Built in the 16th century, this charming wooden bridge features unique architecture that reflects the rural essence of Vietnam. Along the way, gain insight into daily local life as well as Vietnamese ancestral worship and rituals.

16:30: Leave the heritage house and transfer to Ecohost Truc Thang for an overnight stay.

09:00: After breakfast, depart from Hai Hau and make a stop at Xuan Duc Mat Weaving Village, home to a traditional sedge mat weaving craft that dates back nearly 200 years. Watch as each mat is meticulously woven by skilled artisans, using carefully selected sedge strands and time-honored techniques.

10:30: Bid farewell to Nam Dinh as the journey continues onward to Ninh Binh.
