The only year the festival wasn’t held was in 2017, as a mark of respect to the late King, who had passed away in 2016.
The Pattaya International Fireworks Festival has now evolved into a multi-day competition where teams from around the world showcase spectacular fireworks displays over Pattaya Beach in Thailand. The event includes synchronized shows set to music and also features local food vendors, stalls, and a vibrant atmosphere enjoyed by both tourists and locals.

The Pattaya International Fireworks Festival 2025 will be held on November 28-29, with the fireworks show starting at 7:45 PM each day.
The event will feature expert fireworks teams from five nations, including Serbia, Hong Kong, Germany, the Philippines, and the United Kingdom. Beyond the fireworks, the festival will also include live music, cultural dance performances, and other activities.
Following the unfortunate passing of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, there were initial rumors that the event would be postponed or canceled. However, the two-day festival on Central and North Pattaya Beach will proceed in a new format that is “appropriate, peaceful, and simple,” expressing profound condolences and reverence for Her Majesty.

Pattaya City has outlined several changes to the schedule and activities, with the restructured event aiming to transform the annual spectacle into a demonstration of loyalty and national unity.
The festival will also be renamed to include the subtitle “The Light of Eternal Royalty.” The opening fireworks display will be a dedicated sequence honoring the Queen Mother, and attendees are encouraged to wear respectful, muted-colored clothing.
There will be a Moment of Silence, during which audience members will be invited to stand for a one-minute period of mourning before the main show begins.

Additionally, the performance program will feature a Khon Masked Dance, highlighting the importance of preserving this classical art form, one of the Queen Mother’s key royal advocacies. There will also be an orchestral symphony performing royal compositions, accompanied by images depicting Her Majesty’s extensive royal duties alongside His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej the Great.
Additionally, a special commemorative zone will also be established to display images of Her Majesty’s royal work and provide a focal point for expressions of condolences.
Due to the passing of Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, attendees are encouraged to wear traditional Thai attire or polite, muted-colored clothing to show respect. If you’re a foreign traveler, casual clothes in muted colors are perfectly acceptable.

Keep in mind that there’s a high chance of heavy traffic. Beach Road is often gridlocked, and Second Road may become a temporary scooter parking zone, reducing it to one or two lanes. Soi 6 will be busy but not overwhelming, as most families attending the fireworks aren’t likely to visit that area, though the same can’t be said for Walking Street!
Finding a motorbike taxi after the fireworks can be difficult, and if you do find one, expect inflated prices, often around 200 baht for a ride that normally costs 60. Unless you’re willing to wait 30-40 minutes in the late evening, be prepared to walk a lot or book a private driver in advance.
