Depart from Phnom Penh for Kampot, stopping en route at Tonle Bati to visit Ta Prohm and Yeay Peau temples (12th-13th century). Continue to Prasat Neang Khmao (10th century) and a silk weaving village before heading to Takeo.

Lunch at a local restaurant.

Take a boat ride from Takeo to Phnom Da (note: no shade, so bring a hat and sunscreen). Visit Phnom Da temple (6th century) and Asram Maharoseil, an Indian-style sandstone temple. Return by boat to Takeo and continue to Kampot.

Dinner at a local restaurant and overnight in Kampot.

Drive to Bokor National Park for a 30-minute forest walk to Popokvil Waterfalls (note: may be dry in the dry season). Visit the abandoned Bokor Hill Station, including the former Royal Residence, church, and casino, with stunning views of the southern coast.
