Bac Ha Market Tour 2 Days: Explore Vietnam’s Ethnic Traditions

Pick up at Laocai Train Station and transfer to Can Cau Market, a small market set in a valley surrounded by mountains, just 7 km from China. The market offers a glimpse into the unique cultures of the ethnic minorities in Vietnam’s remote mountain areas. You’ll see boys and girls dressed in colorful costumes, as they gather in hopes of finding a life partner. Enjoy the lively atmosphere with cups of wine and exchanges among different ethnic groups.

After exploring, enjoy lunch at the market.

Next, head to Bac Ha, stopping along the way to visit a Flower H'mong village. Upon arrival in Bac Ha, check in to your hotel.

Spend the evening exploring the town and enjoy dinner in Bac Ha.

After breakfast, start the day by visiting the Bac Ha Market, known as the most colorful market in northern Vietnam. Here, you'll encounter various hill-tribe peoples and have the chance to sample local foods, including special wines made from rice, cassava, corn, and fruits like plums, apples, and peaches. You can also engage with the minorities with the help of a guide's interpretation.

Next, visit the H'mong King's House (Hoang A Tuong's house), built by the French and Chinese in 1920. Return to the town for lunch.

In the afternoon, visit Ban Pho Village and then say goodbye to Bac Ha as you head back to Sapa. On the way, stop at the Vietnam-China border in Lao Cai. Arrive in Sapa late in the afternoon or return to the station for the train to Hanoi.
