Dear Ms Bich,
I just wanted to say that we thoroughly enjoyed our trip down the Mekong on the Indochine. The boat was very comfortable, the crew were always friendly and willing to help even when we couldn't understand each other and Minh was a great tour guide. The food on the boat was excellent. And the Mekong was endlessly fascinating.

The only thing we didn't like was the insects! They were ferocious and we all suffered fairly severe allergic reactions to whatever it was that bit us. It might be a good idea to warn future travellers just so they're prepared.

If you like, I'd be happy to write a review for tripadvisor.com.
Thanks for your help with all the arrangements.

Kind regards ,
Michele McFarland

Good Day Mrs Bich
Vietnam is truly beautiful. All the people we met were kind and friendly.
While we were travelling we ran a travel blog for our family and friends back home. If you are interested, it is here: http://jcouvaras.blogspot.com/
Some feedback on our trip for you and your company

1.   Mrs Bich.
Without you none of this would have happened. With your expertise, organisation and good advice we had a fantastic time.  All arrangements, guides, travels, flights, hotels etc  were well arranged and there was no major issue that made our holiday any less enjoyable.   We Highly recommend you!

2.  Our Guides
Shangi in Sapa, Anthony in Hanoi. Vin in Hue and Honian,  Vouthy in Siem Reap  they were all outstanding. All had good knowledge, engaged with us, and put the extra effort in to make our stay that much better. We were very impress with all. Special mention is needed for Vouthy in Siem Reap  He is passionate and very knowledgeable about his history, his country, and has a good grasp of English and a very good nature. He has a way of explaining and linking the legends and factual history. He really stood out and we highly recommend him.
Mr Mingh in Saigon is a kind, soft spoken and well natured gentleman, but lacks engagement/communication  skills I believe are necessary for a good tour guide.   He is more passive than active but we still enjoyed out time with him.

3.  Hotels

-  Silkpath in Hanoi is “ excellent. Good location, Good staff. Good food and clean rooms.
-  Bhaya Cruise on Halong bay is Outstanding! Rooms, boat, food, staff is everything was excellent. Will go again.
-  Victoria Spa is very good (for some reason rooms have no air-conditioning, and been put on the ground floor we were not happy to sleep with or leave windows open for air). Good food.
-   Siagon Morin in Hue is excellent. Beautiful woodwork and aged French look. Breakfast in the garden.
- Palm Garden Resort in Hoian is Fantastic, on the sea and glad we spent 4 nights there. Staff outstanding, food excellent as was evening dining. A little out of the way, but they operate a hotel bus to get to town. Very good swimming beach.
- Grand Hotel in Saigon is other old French style hotel. We were very happy with our room and hotel in general. Good pool area with evening BBQ on offer. Location good and easy to walk downtown.
- Angkor Paradise in Siem Reap. A dump. Reviews in Trip Advisor are 100% correct and nothing has improved. Hotel creates a very good first impression and then everything thereafter is downhill. Main complaints were air-conditioning is did not work, Water is no water, some water, no hot, some warm, only cold, then very hot. Dripped out the tap or shower, then rushed out, then stopped . It was a lottery. We appreciate Asia-King offered  to change hotel for us, but we decided that to pack, check-out, go somewhere else, check-in, unpack etc  would waste too much time, so we’ll bear it is just one more night and just make the best of it.  I think it was the right decision.

4.   Train to SAPA
Other than this was an experience their web site http://www.tulicotrain.com/ claims a Deluxe wooden 4 berths with embark on these carriages; visitors will indulge in the pleasure of the warm decoration and safety. These carriages feature a large space to fit your luggage, a large corridor and hot water suppliers on two sides of the carriages. Locks are carefully made to be sure you never lose things when beholding the panoramic views of ever-changing scenery. Each carriage can accommodate 28 passengers with the special care of Pole-star guiding staff in from the ground to the time you settle down. Each cabin has 4 berths; all berths are air-conditioned with water and breads for individual. The berths are remodeled to be soft sleeper with air conditioning. All cabins are air-conditioned, equipped with safe lock and bright, blarge corridors. Facilities are modern and well-fitted to bring  you a good night on the train.
Well quite frankly this is not at all the truth.
Facilities were terrible, old and very worn sleeper lights did not work, power-points  did not work. Staff  were very rude, and  going to Sapa, the air-conditioning went off at midnight and we become a sauna, toilets were utterly disgusting and unusable, so we had to use another carriage.
Coming back to Hanoi we had a very loud banging sound every 1 min to 2 min. It was very loud and came from under the carriage and lasted the whole trip. Staff did not care about the noise. Again we had no power-points and berth light also did not work. Again, staff did not care at all. Toilets were cleaner on this trip.

Train trip overall  although we take it as a very unique experience, I feel it is very wrong to publish such un-true facts on their web-site. I would say it is  more like  back-packers accommodation.

5.  Overall
Every part we visited had it own unique charm and appeal, so it is not easy to single out any one area that was better than another.  It was ALL GOOD   a very memorable and  remarkable holiday.
The guides were excellent, we enjoyable the local food, it is a beautiful country, rich history, but with the most intriguing road-rules!
People are kind people and there is a lot of poverty, yet happy people.
We would most definitely visit again  just  take it a bit slower in places.

Thank you very much Mrs Bich.
Wish you and Asia-King good success.
Kind regards

Dear Bich,
Now that we have safely returned home to Mexico, I just wanted to thank you and Asia King Travel for all the arrangements you made during our recent visit to Cambodia and Vietnam. Everything went very smoothly and it is always gratifying to discover that something you buy from the internet at short notice without any real reference can turn out so well.
We had a super time. The guides were very good, particularly Kumpiak in Pnomh Penh who was a really superb guy. The cruise along the Mekong from Can Tho to Cai Be on the “Bessac” was fantastic. Congratulations once again and many thanks. We will certainly recommend your services to any of our friends who may think of doing a similar trip.

Good
After reading all the previous reviews from different travel agents, I've decided to book with Asia King Travel sometimes in March 2010.

Thank you very much for arranging such  wonderful itineraries from Hanoi-Halong Bay-Hue-Danang-Hoian-Nhatrang-Hochiminh-Cantho-our home town Omon within 12 days for our group. We got picked up as scheduled at each location.  I could not think of one reason to complain about my trip.  Everything was perfect as arranged.  I've met up with Mrs. Bich in Hanoi and thank you for your awesome gifts.

If you are trying to book with Asia King Travel and have doubts or questions, please contact me via email: allisontse@yahoo.com.  There are too many good things to say about the Asia King Travel.  A few words to describe just so new guests can at least have a peaceful mind: reliable, excellent service and one can count on Asia King Travel.
I would like the specially thank Mr. Chung, Mr. Anh and Mr. Minh , our tour guides in Hanoi, Hue-Danang-Hoian  and Hochiminh-my hometown.  I would also like to thank you Mr. Thong who picked us up at Nha Trang for transfer to Cam Ranh airport.  His English is excellent and so is Mr. Anh's.
After 35 years escaping the country by boat, 1978, I am very happy to visit my country with my family and show them my home town. Given the values and Vietnam's beautiful sceneries, we plan to come back and visit the northern regions of Vietnam.  We are frequent travelers.  After this trip, it would be difficult for me to plan our vacations else where....Mexico..as U.S dollars go a long way in Vietnam and one can always enjoy the best dishes, whether they are French, Chinese, Vietnamese..., in the country from the north to south of Vietnam.

I would like to thank Mrs. Bich for booking the hotel at Caravelle immediately after we missed our flight on 12/29.  Although our itineraries had ended on 12/29, Mrs. Bich and our tour Guide, Mr. Minh were very helpful and kind, kept checking in with us to make sure we were able to rebook our flights back to San Francisco.  Mrs. Bich provided us a free shuttle bus on 12/31 for transfering to the airport and Mr. Minh called many times to make sure the driver picked us up on time.  At the airport before we boarded to Hongkong for transfering to Los Angeles ( there was no flights going to SFO), Mr. Minh, our tour guide, called and sent his kind hearted farewell wishes.  Thank you all for your excellent service.

We will definely use your service again.

Warm regards,

Dear Huyen
I have advised Mrs Bich of how wonderfull we found every part of our holiday in Vietnam, and what excellent service and information she gave us.She is certainly a great asset to Asia King Travel.
We found the guides we had in Hanoi area, then in Hoi An area, and later in Ho Chi Minh city and area to be 1st class.Their concern for our comfort and safety was great, and the touring, information and assistance went well beyond the job of just tour guide. Asia King must be congratulated on their employing excellent representatives for their company. Unfortunately illness in Ho Chi Minh meant we had to cancell, and also reshedule tours, but that was done with sympathy and concern because  my husband and son and daughter were unwell in HoChi Minh.

We have friends planning to travel to Vietnam, and are passing on our promotion of Asia King to them, as we know you will give them the same great holiday you arranged for us.
Many thanks.

Dear Tu Quyen
I write to thank you on behalf of my party for an outstanding trip to Vietnam and Cambodia. From the moment we set foot in Hanoi to our departure from Phnom Penh everything went exactly to plan and was to the highest standard. The travel arrangements went like clockwork. The flights, transfers, pick-ups etc were all efficient and punctual and meant that no time was wasted on any part of the journey. The hotels were of an excellent standard with service to match. Our five guides were extremely knowledgeable, informative, helpful and friendly. The dining arrangements were very good, allowing us to experience a wide selection of Vietnamese and Cambodian food in local restaurants. Our programme was full to overflowing but, as we were an individual tour, always flexible enough to meet our demands. The sights we visited were both interesting and spectacular, and our guides knew how to get the best from them.
Finally, to yourself. I have travelled widely throughout the world but have never had such an excellent tour organiser as you. Your ability to build a programme which was tailored to our wishes; you overall efficiency; the speed of your responses to my emails, and your friendly. personal way of working all made this trip by far the easiest to organise.
I will have no hesitation in recommending you and Asia King to friends.
I wish you and your family every success and very best wishes for the future.
Warmest regards

Dear Ms Bich,
This is just an email to say that I am now back in Hong Kong in front of my laptop having had a most enjoyable visit to your country. Many thanks for all the arrangements which all went very smoothly. I will certainly pass on your Agency to any friends that are thinking of visiting. I will also say that the north west is well worth visiting. You may be interested in the following points for future referenceThe train is a necessary but not an enjoyable experience  Elderly people have difficulty with the top bunks. The train is noisy all the night long because of the uneven track
The Victoria Hotel is probably an unnecessarily expensive  experience for most travellers  I am sure there is a good three star which would be cheaper
I came back by road becuse I wanted to see the scenery between the highlands and the plain this was very rewarding. It takes a long time-- about nine hours-- but a break for lunch at  a  good local restaurant in nice surroundings would shorten the journey. This was  my own choice and the guide HUY was most helpful in arranging this for me. As I said in his report card "I was an exacting customer"and he did his best to please. His performance as a guide was amenable,English very good and knowledgeable about local things  for example in pointing out the indigo plant which I had never seen before but which used to be important in HK.
I was fussy about wanting to eat Viet food all the way. This was enjoyable and interesting perhaps you should ask your guests what they want ? Don't assume that everyone from europe wants to eat "fish and chips"
The visit to the Mausoleum well worth while and Ha long just what I wanted to see although I skipped the grotto because I have seen so many limestone caves in my life
All in all thank you and Asia King, and thank you so much too for dealing patiently with me in good arranging my visit at such short notice.
