The Dak Lak Museum was built on the site of Bao Dai Palace – a historic structure that once served as the residence and workplace of Emperor Bao Dai in 1947. Over the course of various historical periods, the site has been renovated and expanded into a modern museum with a total usable area of up to 9,200 square meters.
The museum's architecture harmoniously blends tradition and modernity, drawing inspiration from the longhouse of the E De people – a cultural symbol of the Central Highlands. The open space, surrounded by greenery and lawns, creates a sense of closeness to nature and offers a relaxing experience for visitors.
