North Vietnam Wellness Tour 6 Days: The Path of Stillness
Overview
The Path of Stillness is a six-day journey from the vibrant energy of Hanoi to the peaceful forests of Yen Tu and the healing mineral waters of Quang Hanh. Designed for travelers seeking meaningful rest without committing to an intensive retreat, this journey combines private travel, gentle mindful experiences, and ample time to simply slow down and be present.
Inspired by the contemplative atmosphere of the Truc Lam cultural landscape, the experience is thoughtfully designed without religious expectations. Each day has a clear focus, allowing the journey to unfold naturally through four simple stages: pause, reconnect, restore, and return home with a calmer rhythm.
Highlights
- A holistic wellness journey rooted in the nature, culture, and tranquility of Northern Vietnam, rather than simply a collection of spa treatments.
- Private transfers and a dedicated English-speaking guide throughout the journey.
- Mindful walks, quiet tea moments, and gentle cultural experiences in Yen Tu.
- Restorative mineral bathing and dedicated recovery time in Quang Hanh.
- A choice of three travel paces: Gentle, Balanced, or Immersive.
- A personal take-home ritual designed to help extend the benefits of slowing down beyond the journey.
- Two nights in Yen Tu and two nights in Quang Hanh, allowing the experience to feel restorative and unhurried.
Program notes
- Activity and transfer durations are approximate; sequence and availability may change with weather, access conditions, guest preferences and provider schedules.
- Hotels, room categories, onsen admissions, meals and practitioner-led sessions are subject to availability and are confirmed in the final quotation.
- Morning yoga is optional and available at an additional charge, subject to a qualified instructor and suitable venue.
- At Quang Hanh, breakfast and the closing dinner are included; other meals follow the confirmed accommodation or onsen package.
- Please share dietary preferences, allergies, mobility needs and relevant health concerns before travel, and arrange suitable travel insurance. This is a non-clinical cultural and wellness journey—not medical treatment, psychotherapy or a detox program—and no health outcome is promised.
Choose your rhythm
Gentle. Yen Tu by cable car and short, accessible walks; one principal activity per day; longer recovery periods and optional early finishes.
Balanced. Cable-car access combined with moderate heritage walks, the full mindful programme and generous free time - recommended for most guests.
Immersive. Longer walking sections in Yen Tu and fuller participation in morning and reflective practices, while still preserving an unscheduled afternoon.
Your Journey Companion coordinates the travel experience and helps adjust its practical rhythm. Mindfulness, yoga, spa and wellness sessions are delivered only by the relevant qualified or authorised provider when included.
Itinerary
A private welcome and assisted hotel check-in create a soft landing in Hanoi. During a short arrival briefing, your guide will introduce the journey and help you choose the Gentle, Balanced or Immersive rhythm that best suits how you want to travel.
Arrival Relaxation Massage | Approximately 60 minutes
Ease into the journey with a gentle full-body relaxation massage at the hotel or a carefully selected nearby spa. The treatment is designed to release travel fatigue and help you settle into a slower rhythm; pressure preferences are discussed before the session, and the experience may be rescheduled or omitted for late arrivals.
Accommodation: At the hotel in Hanoi
Meals: Dinner
After breakfast, leave Hanoi for the private 2.5- to 3-hour drive to Yen Tu, with a comfort stop en route. Arrive around midday for lunch, check in and enjoy time to settle into the mountain surroundings.
Mindful Forest Walk | Approximately 60 minutes
Follow a peaceful trail near the foot of Yen Tu, guided by gentle breathing and sensory-awareness cues. A short period of optional silence helps mark the transition from the pace of everyday life to the quieter rhythm of the mountain; the route is adjusted to your comfort.
Vietnamese Tea & the Practice of Pausing | Approximately 30 minutes
Enjoy a carefully selected Vietnamese tea in a calm setting, beginning with a few quiet moments before sharing reflections from the walk. No knowledge of tea or meditation is needed - only a willingness to slow down.
Accommodation: At the hotel in Yen Tu
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Begin the morning gently before breakfast. Today is the cultural heart of the journey, with the route shaped around your preferred pace and the day's weather and access conditions.
Optional Gentle Morning Yoga | Approximately 45-60 minutes
Available at an additional charge, subject to instructor and venue availability.
Ease into the day with accessible stretches, breathing and gentle yoga postures in Yên Tử's peaceful mountain setting. Designed for beginners as well as experienced guests, the private or small-group session may be arranged with a qualified instructor, subject to availability.
Yen Tu Heritage Journey | Approximately 3-4 hours
Travel by cable car and on foot through selected sites within Yen Tu's forested cultural landscape. Your guide brings the setting to life through stories of Truc Lam heritage, architecture and the mountain's enduring place in Vietnamese culture, without turning the experience into a religious lecture or a summit challenge.
Personal Reflection & Journaling | Approximately 30-45 minutes
After a light lunch and protected time to rest, use a simple prompt to reflect on what you would like to leave behind. You may write privately, take a quiet garden walk or choose a pre-booked spa treatment instead; the practice is an invitation, never an obligation.
Mindful Seasonal Dinner | Approximately 60-90 minutes
The first few minutes of dinner are enjoyed without phones, allowing the flavours and atmosphere to take centre stage. Conversation then returns naturally, with no formal silence required for the rest of the meal.
Accommodation: At the hotel in Yen Tu
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Enjoy an unhurried breakfast and free morning before the private 1.5- to 2-hour drive to Quang Hanh. After check-in and lunch, the early afternoon is kept free for rest.
Guided Mineral-Bathing Journey | Approximately 2 hours
Begin with a short introduction to bathing etiquette, hydration and a comfortable sequence of warm pools, cooling pauses and rest. The experience unfolds in unhurried intervals rather than one continuous soak, followed by quiet recovery with water or herbal tea.
Accommodation: At the hotel at Quang Hanh Onsen
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
With no intercity travel today, the program leaves generous space for physical rest. Begin the morning with optional stretching or a short nature walk, followed by breakfast at leisure.
Restorative Mineral-Wellness Morning| Approximately 90-120 minutes
Return to the mineral baths during a quieter period where possible and explore the facilities at your own pace. After lunch, the afternoon remains intentionally open for sleep, reading or a pre-booked massage or body treatment.
Afternoon Tea & a Screen-Light Evening| Approximately 30 minutes
A short tea ritual invites you to notice which parts of the slower rhythm feel realistic to carry home.
Dinner on your own.
The evening remains free and gently screen-light, without a compulsory group program.
Accommodation: At the hotel at Quang Hanh Onsen
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Begin the morning with a final quiet practice, followed by breakfast and time for a last soak when opening hours and your onward schedule allow.
Carry-Home Ritual Session| Approximately 30-45 minutes
With your guide, shape one small and realistic ritual for the next 21 days - perhaps mindful tea, five minutes of breathing, a weekly walk or a screen-free evening. You will receive a Take-Home Ritual Kit with Vietnamese herbal tea, a compact journal, a guided breathing card and your personalised habit card.
After the session, depart for the private 3- to 3.5-hour return to Hanoi, with a comfort stop en route. Drop-off is arranged at your hotel, the airport or another agreed location; a late flight or an additional Hanoi night is recommended for the most relaxed ending.
Accommodation: None (the room is available until noon, surcharge for late check-out is not included)
