Upstream Saigon - Siem Reap 8 Days 7 Nights cruise
Itineraries

Gather at the Sofitel Plaza Hotel in Saigon in the morning for a transfer to My Tho, approximately 70 kilometers away. Along the way, enjoy a stop at the Cholon Market and a visit to a lacquer factory. Upon arrival in My Tho, board the RV La Marguerite and savor a delicious lunch on board. The journey begins in the afternoon, followed by a Welcome Dinner and a captivating traditional music performance.

Arrive at Cai Be in the morning. After breakfast, embark on a morning junk boat tour to explore the vibrant floating market. Go ashore to visit the French Gothic Cathedral, take a leisurely walk along the riverbank, and stop by a local workshop to see the production of rice paper and coconut sweets. Return to the ship for lunch before continuing the cruise past Vinh Long Province. Arrive at Sa Dec for an afternoon walk, where you’ll visit the house of Marguerite’s Chinese lover, now a small museum dedicated to The Lover. Conclude the day with a visit to a Caodaist Temple and a stroll through the lively local market.

Arrive in Phnom Penh in the morning, where the capital of Cambodia showcases its charming French colonial architecture along the riverside streets. Begin the day with visits to the Royal Palace and the Silver Pagoda, followed by the National Museum, renowned for its exceptional collection of Khmer crafts. Return to the ship for lunch before embarking on an afternoon excursion to Tuol Sleng Museum, formerly the S21 High School, which was transformed into a detention center during the Khmer Rouge regime from 1975 to 1979.

Begin the morning with a stop at Wat Hanchey, where you'll visit a pre-Angkorian temple perched atop a hill overlooking the Mekong River. Dating back to the 8th century, the temple's ancient brick structures showcase the architectural style of the Chenla Empire, which predates the Angkorian period. Return to the ship for lunch as the journey continues toward Kampong Cham, arriving during the meal. In the afternoon, take a bus excursion to explore Wat Nokor, a unique 12th-century Buddhist temple built atop the ruins of an older structure, offering a fascinating blend of historical and spiritual significance.

Disembark early in the morning and begin a five-hour transfer to Siem Reap. Along the way, stop to visit the historic Kampong Kdei Bridge, an impressive Angkorian-era structure built during the reign of Jayavarman VII. Arrive in Siem Reap around lunchtime, ready to explore the wonders of this iconic destination.
