Itineraries

Huay Xai - Khon Teun – Huay Ting (L, D)

Heritage Line welcomes guests after clearing Lao immigration, followed by a minivan transfer to the ship at Huay Xai Pier. Our team assists with check-in and luggage as we embark on a captivating 3-night voyage along the Upper Mekong.

As we sail, our expert guide introduces the diverse ethnic groups of Laos. Our first stop is a Tai Lu village, home to 800 residents, where we experience a traditional Baci ceremony.

We continue downstream to Huay Ting, mooring on a scenic sandbank for a welcome cocktail and dinner, surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty.

Huay Ting - Pakbeng - Khok Ek (B, L, D)

Early risers can start the day with a peaceful yoga session on the terrace deck, surrounded by the stunning Mekong scenery.

In the morning, we arrive in Pakbeng to visit Laos' best-managed elephant sanctuary, where rescued logging elephants now live in a safe and natural habitat. If time allows, we’ll head to a hilltop viewpoint in town for breathtaking panoramas.

After lunch, unleash your creativity with a bamboo weaving workshop, crafting your own basket as a keepsake.

In the afternoon, we visit a unique village where Hmong, Lao Loum, and Khamo communities live side by side. Meet local families who share their traditions, daily life, and cultural differences. If in season, we may explore their organic gardens and sample fresh produce.

Back on board, enjoy snacks at the bar while previewing the next day's journey. Before dinner, villagers join us for a traditional “Kene” flute performance, followed by a classic 1927 film, Chiang, in the lounge, setting the mood for our next adventure.

Khok Ek - Khok Luang - Khok Phou (B, L, D)

Welcome the morning with a serene yoga session as the Mekong awakens with the first rays of sunlight.

After breakfast, we visit a charming Khum village, where simple bamboo stilt houses overlook lush rice fields. Meet a local family, learn about their traditional farming practices, and gain insight into their daily lives.

Back on board for lunch, we continue downstream, stopping at the 200-year-old village of Ban Khok Phou. Stroll through the village square, observe daily life, and, if time allows, visit a small temple for quiet meditation with the local monk and novices.

As evening falls, enjoy a cocktail on the sandbank, followed by a farewell dinner in this stunning riverside setting—your final night on the Laotian Mekong bathed in the glow of twilight.

Khok Phou - Luang Prabang (B, L)

As our 3-night cruise draws to a close, we approach the renowned Pak Ou Caves, a fitting finale before arriving in Luang Prabang. A light à la carte breakfast sets the stage for a diverse brunch later in the day.

At Pak Ou Caves, we explore the lower grotto, home to around 4,000 sacred Buddhist statues. Guests can then choose between a serene kayak tour on the Nam Ou River or a visit to Ban Muang Keo, known for silk weaving, Lao whisky distillation, and traditional healing practices.

Back on board, a Lao cooking class precedes a delicious buffet brunch. During our final stretch, an insightful presentation on the Golden Triangle unravels its complex history of colonialism, opium trade, and regional conflicts.

We arrive in Luang Prabang around 15:00. After check-out, our team assists with luggage and final arrangements, bidding you a warm farewell and best wishes for your onward journey.
