Board Belmond Orcaella at Bagan and enjoy a delicious lunch. Later, disembark for a guided tour of the ancient city and witness the unforgettable sunset over the Bagan plain.

Start the day with a shopping tour in Bagan and a visit to the gilded Shwezigon Pagoda. You may also wish to arrange a tour of Old Bagan by horse cart or bicycle.
In the afternoon, set sail towards Salay where you can visit the Wooden Monastery and an impressive 20ft Buddha made of straw lacquer.

Visit the port town of Magwe and its famous Myathalon Pagoda; devotees come from miles around to join in religious festivals. Continue to Min Hla and for a late afternoon visit to the local fort, the site of a great battle during the second Anglo-Burmese War.

Longyi tying and Thanakha wearing demonstrated on the Observation Deck. Take an afternoon visit by bus to the ancient city Sri Ksetra (‘Fabulous City’) with its unique cylindrical shaped stone stupas. Dating back to the 5th – 9th century, this city flourished during the rule of the Phyu. During the 1890’s Pyay was a booming trade town, and there is still much activity in and around the docks. Next, enjoy a city tour, visit the impressive Shwe-san-daw Pagoda and the imposing 10-storey Sitting Buddha watching over this important site.

Set out by bus on a morning excursion to Shwe Taung town and visit Shwe Myat Mhan Pagoda to see the only ‘bespectacled’ Buddha in Myanmar (thought to have curing powers). One the way back, discover local industry with a visit to a local sweets confectioner and a bamboo shoot pickle maker. Return to RV Orcaella and depart from Pyay. Spend the afternoon relaxing on board and taking in the scenery.

Disembark at the small port of Zalon. Take a tuk tuk along the main street, lined with stunning colonial-style wooden houses and large tropical gardens. Arrive at the Pyi Taw Pyan Pagoda. Continue to another little-visited town called Danuphyu. This is where the revered General Maha Bandula led a Burmese defensive against the British troops during the Anglo-Burmese War.

A written confirmation notice will be released to all booked clients and/or their agents within and not later than 30 days prior the departure date. In case of cancellation an alternative cruise will be offered and if not acceptable all down payments will be refunded
