Shaxi (Yunnan)

The old town of Shaxi is located in Yunnan Province. It is 139 kilometers (3 hours drive) from Dali and 107 kilometers from Lijiang (2 hours and 45 minutes by car).
It is an important trading center on the ancient tea and horses route Yunnan-Tibet, which was included in the list of protection for 101 sites threatened in 2001 by the World Monuments Fund. Pompeii in Italy and the Great Wall in China are also on the list.
Shaxi is an ancient city that incorporates business and Buddhist culture, where the old ancient scene, ancient temples, ancient shops, ancient alleys, old houses, old village gates, ancient trees, ancient wells old bridges and fairs remain intact.
