Why a local house

The same five-star hotels. Without the layers in between.

Many luxury tours of Laos are sold by agencies abroad and operated by a local company like ours. Booking with us directly means the same hotels, river boats and private guides, with one team responsible for every detail and no mark-up added along the way.

Your travel designer works across Laos, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia, knows the hotels room by room and is the person you message while you travel. Proposals arrive within 24 hours, and every element can be changed until it feels exactly right.

Where you stay

Updated October 2026 · Reviewed by Lily Dam, travel designer

How much does a private luxury tour of Laos cost?

Our signature journeys start from US$3,535 per person with Luxury hotels and from US$6,757 per person with Iconic hotels, based on two travelling, international flights not included. The final price depends on your dates, length and hotel choices; your travel designer sends an exact quote within 24 hours.

When is the best time to go?

November to March is ideal: dry, sunny days and cool mornings in Luang Prabang and the north. The river journeys run best from October to April, when the Mekong is high enough and the skies are clear. We plan around the weather for your dates.

How many days do we need in Luang Prabang?

Three to four nights: enough for the temples and the morning alms, Kuang Si Falls, the Pak Ou caves by boat and a slow evening on the Mekong.

Do I need a visa for Laos?

For Laos, most visitors need a visa: apply online for an e-visa before you travel, or get a visa on arrival at Luang Prabang, Vientiane or Pakse airport. Every visitor also completes the free Lao Digital Immigration Form online in the three days before arrival. We send clear instructions for every country after booking.

How do we travel within Laos?

By private car with a driver, the modern Laos-China Railway between Vientiane and Luang Prabang, short domestic flights to the south, and private boats on the Mekong.

Can we combine Laos with Thailand, Vietnam or Cambodia?

Yes. Luang Prabang has direct flights to Bangkok and Hanoi, and you can also arrive from Thailand by river, down the Mekong from the Golden Triangle.

What is included?

Hotels with breakfast, private car and driver, private English-speaking guides on touring days, regional and domestic flights, experiences and entrance fees in the programme, and 24/7 support. International flights, visas, insurance and personal expenses are not included.

How do we book and pay?

A 30% deposit confirms your journey; the balance is due 30 days before you arrive.
